Women’s empowerment is not a side programme at OES. It is a core conviction. We have economically empowered over 47,278 women across India in just the past year alone — and we are far from done.
Our women-centric programmes are designed with deep sensitivity and real understanding of the barriers women face: family responsibilities, lack of mobility, limited access to education, and years of being told that certain paths are not for them. We dismantle those barriers — gently, but firmly.
From vocational training and self-employment support to digital literacy and entrepreneurship programmes, everything we offer women is built to give them not just a skill, but independence. Real, lasting, dignified independence.
In rural households, where women’s mobility is often constrained by caregiving responsibilities and social expectations, tailoring skills became quiet instruments of autonomy. Through our partnership with Paradeep Phosphates Ltd, we upskilled rural women with tailoring skills to start earning an income from home. A sewing machine placed in a corner of the home transformed into a source of income, dignity, and choice. Women didn’t have to leave their households to contribute economically. Income flowed alongside daily life, stitched into the fabric of their routines.
Across Beauty & Wellness, Apparel, Agriculture, Logistics, and IT-ITeS sectors, women have found pathways that work for them — and for their families. In 2024-25 alone, 10,158 women were trained across our programmes, accounting for nearly 60% of our total reach. That is not an accident. It is a choice.
